Education, Outreach, Training & Knowledge Transfer

We have provided innovative and targeted education and training opportunities to diverse audiences in many areas of space science and applications, and at all levels.

Our dedicated, end-to-end MOOC (massive open online course) production service has created large scale online courses on Earth observation and other space subjects, hosted on our own MOOC platform as well as on services such as FutureLearn and Coursera.

We have developed large scale education initiatives for clients such as ESA, Google and Space Adventures, and helped to establish the world’s first full-time high school with a space-oriented curriculum. Our innovations in space education have included pioneering interactive technologies, designs for science centres and schools, activities conducted by astronauts in orbit and engaging multimedia curriculum resources.

We understand the needs of trainers and educators at all levels, and the importance of curriculum mapping and local tailoring of teaching materials, and we have led the development of new  approaches to space education such as ESA's Earth Observation education strategy.

And as the world continues to move more training and education online, we have played a key role in advising clients such as EUMETSAT and the International Space University in converting courses into full-scale online delivery.

We are also leading the development of a comprehensive Knowledge Hub of Earth Observation capabilities in the international development sector, for the ESA GDA programme, which includes groundbreaking tools to support EO trainers.
